Dear friends

I ordered 2 T handles for the Galley Hatch... since the hatch is so big...
I was wondering if anyone has pics of the inside .. of their hatch and the way installation was done.. since not too many tears to compare to here.

Heikki, I'm up for my 3am pain :DOH2:

and noticed your post. The way I did it was to install the lock at the correct spot on the hatch. I then climbed inside, closed the hatch and figured out where the catch will line up with the lock. I traced around the catch with a pencil. This was all done before I installed the galley cabinets, it may not work for you if your cabinets are in place.

My back cabinets can still be taken out.. matter of fact they are at the moment since Im skinning and drilling the light holes for the hatch as well.. and few other things ... :lol:

How far in from the corners of the lower hatch are they to be installed? :thinking:

Heikki, I'm okay it's just self inflicted pain from physical therapy stretching of the shoulder to make it mobile again. No pain no gain. It should be normal by early September. I hope the lock installs without a hitch (problem). Just take it slow and you'll get it right.

Heikki, I only used one in the center but you'll need to take into account the thickness of the wall plus the center of the lock and add about an inch or so for clearance and room for error.

Notice in my situation it was necessary to chisel out clearance for the latch.

So there is actually 2 parts , as my doors lock kits have ? except just a lil different?

I never had done the doors either but I managed it somehow.. I,ll get the hatch then too.. I had several goodie photos to follow.. :thumbsup:

I,ll most likely ask you more questions ...if you dont mind.. :lol:

Its due to jitters...I guess and honestly speaking...Whew.. :lol:

both the T Handles are the locking kind...

One on either side?

Am I understanding this correctly?

It may be easier, look better, and seal better to use just one handle with a dual cam rod system.
That is, when you turn the handle on the outside, the mechanism on the inside pushes, or pulls two rods which "latch" the hatch tight at each side.
