Ok what methods and things did you all use to waterproof the pavement side of your floor???????????
Ill be laying the floor sometime this week and was jsut looking for ideas

How did you water proof your whole tear not just the bottom

...I recommend 2 different methods...1)aluminum skins(I don't like plastic or fiberglass skins)...we also seal...with poly...all exterior wood before skinning...and 2) epoxy and auto paint(or spar varnish) for woodies or painted finishes...

See if i have this right so far
1. secure floor to trailer
2. treat floor
3. Build sides
do i build the doors and windo cut outs before the walls go up or doesnt it matter
4. build interior
I plan on using most of my cabinetry and beds as the spars
5. secure sides
6. roof on
7. Epoxy?
8. paint
9. get drunk in camper

...swap 1&2...build the doors and windows on the bench before attaching sides...in fact build everthing on the bench before attaching...it is a lot easier to build horizontal rather than vertical......

If you are going to use epoxy on the ply and then paint, you might want to consider doing the first couple of coats of epoxy while the sides are laying flat, then installing them and a couple of final coats. A lot less headache and problematic to do them flat than vertical....also add some steps for sanding/epoxy application, depending on how smooth you want your finish, you'll find that the exterior prep. may be the most time consuming step. But, that all depends on what you want.... Just what I've experienced. Doug

ok great ill plan for hte door and the windows nad install them on the "bench" as far as the epoxy, i thought hte point of it was to "seal" it when it was put together

I had Line-X sprayed on the bottom of the tongue box, the teardrop and the wooden fenders. It is holding up great. As a matter of fact, I backed the tear down the boat launch ramp, put the tires under water and stepped out and took a pic. Now I can prove to onlookers, that it is indeed "waterproof" and has passed the "float test!"

That's why I mention "depending on what you want". If you want to just seal, you can do it assembled with them vertical...If you want to build up epoxy so that you can spray it and have an automotive type finish and are looking for a high end finish on it, it's easier to build up the layers while laying flat. I coated the bottom of my floor with CPES... 5 coats, until it wouldn't sink in anymore. Then I painted it with Rustoleum grey paint.... don't know how it will hod up, the paint may wear off, but the CPES totally waterproofs it.....(I hope).
