For a TT with 4' tall sides, what's a reasonable door size? 24x36? 24x32? 30x36?

Or, does it all depend on my backside?

Depends on your back, front and shoulders if they are wide. Oh and if you can sit in the door with a mattress, without bumpin the head.

...as big as you can fit in the space available...ours wuz 32w x 36H with the sill 2"s above the floor....................

I've started to build our trailer and the door, only one in this build, is 30X42.

I agree with Madjack, make it as tall as possible, with just a 2" sill (so you can sit on the matteress with your legs hanging out of the door and not hit your head on the door opening and won't cut off the blood circulation in your legs) then as wide as possible so you can swing your legs in without doing an abdominal crunch.......getting too old for that.
