Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I have begun the the madness of teardrop time. The build has gotten off to a good start. Here in Tennessee we are in the midst of a heatwave so I work on it in the morning and again in the evening. It's been between 95 and 106 every day for the last two weeks.

I worked on posting the pictures today, cause we gotta have those pic's!

How big are you bulding? And what are you doing as far as the roof goes? Are those separate panels I see in the front?

Lookin good! It looks about the same size as mine. When I built mine a few summers ago it was in the high 90s to low hundreds. Some how I just got so focused on the project that the heat didn't bother me. Granted we don't have the humitity that you have there in TN. You will be camping in no time.

SamIam, Yes the windows will have a hinge on the top so that when they are open they will also act as an awning in case of rain.
Gerdo, Yes you can get beyond the heat as you get into the work. Are you still boring holes to lose that weight?
Ira, The size is 5X9 and yes the front is boards that I have cut and shaped to kind of look like clap board siding.
Could someone give me suggestions on how to create a prop for the windows?

R2g...nice start...with those big ol' honkin' windows and door, you should have no problems with claustophobia.......

Looks great R2go. I can relate to the heat we have it bad enough I don't need to clamp to glue flat stuff.

On the window you might try one of the arm types. A junk yard might have one or an old mobile home. (the kind that has a bend in the arm and pushes out.)

Course with a small hinge you could make one.

I'm starting to look for other places "To Cut The Fat". If you work in the stupid heat that you are having YOU will loose weight.

Man, I like your style. Since I have joined this forum, I have wondered why most of the tears have such small windows (and some don't even have windows at all ). Anyway, I'll be using the biggest windows I can find, because we folk in the southern hemisphere do like our sunshine and light.

I like your window space added to the side. I added windows to the front and am so glad I did. They add a lot of comfort for circulation on those hot days. Here's my simple prop that I used.

Barrie, The planning is a very important part. I have worked on mine for sometime now, and a lot of it was just drawing and then "pondering". Just today my granddaughter asked me about my chair sitting next to the trailer and I told her that is my pondering chair.
Barb, Thank you for the pictures of your prop. That is a nice one. Also those trip pictures were great. Keep those coming! Guess you will get around more since your tear is ready to go.

Yep, planning is important, but it seems that mine is going on forever. I am working on a foldable TTT, and figuring out where everything should go without it getting in the way of other stuff, is sometimes pretty frustrating.

Remember to keep those pictures coming. I don't want to hijack your thread!

We got a little more done this week. The temperatures are under 100 degrees now, and are reportedly going down to near normal this next week
