I finally got far enough along to post a picture of one wall standing... even though it's only tacked up for the pic. I am starting to get excited about this project. I have done much research and I have the AC install figured out. I am looking at henges and thinking seriously about using the plastic ones. I need to order windows and hope to find some the size of the ones on the "FISHINN".

I apprediate the info on your windows Steve. My profile is 121" long and 54.25" tall. I think I have gone through your album at least a dozen times. I love that Dutch Blue Linen headliner... did you have any trouble bending it to your profile?

Doug, thanks for your kind words, your Rock Ship is fantastic. I spent more time on the profile design than the rest of the build so far. I spent hours going over profile designs in Andrew's album and tweaked one to my liking. I guess the profile comes closest to being that of a scaled up Cub. The curves are two ellipses and two radiuses. Drawing a radius is simple and the ellipse concept is simple enough but the technique isn't so easy... getting a pencil to glide smoothly along a string while maintaining steady pressure proved to be a real pain. I finally ending up using floral wire for the string and the pencil holder (a nut the pencil would thread into, 5/16ths I think, that I chucked in my drill press and cut the groove with a hack saw) pictured below. Anyone like to express an opinion or advice on the plastic henges for hatch and doors?

Here is how I have seperated the hot exhaust from the incoming cool air. The exhaust will be through the floor under the AC with a little help form a bathroom exhaust fan and of course a panel will cover the rear and the counter top will seal the top. I will have marine vents on the side of the tear for incoming air when the hatch is closed.


Here is a view of the AC from inside before the bottom shelf was installed.


And here it is after the shelf. Air flows nicely under shelf and the mattress won't restrict air flow to the AC.


Next it's the interior faceplate and panel seperating the galley form the cabin cabinets.

Howard, you have a very nice looking teardrop coming along. How did you join the pieces of plywood for the sides? Did you scarf and glue them together? I don't see backer boards at the joints.
