I was wondering about the EPDM roofing. You can see info at http://www.flatroofsolutions.com/price-white-on-black.html

Thanks

That sounds similar to what Chip and Bev used. It's okay, but it'll show every imperfection. It'll also show glue that you didn't quite spread evenly.

Look closely at Bev's and Chip's pictures to see what I mean.

Rebel-

Yep add me to the list.

My TD is 6' + wide soooo it was all I could find at the time that I thought would work.

Mike is right, just make sure you have NO blems. on the surface you are gluing to. Any imperfection will "telegraph" through.

Use a paint pan & foam roller to apply the special glue, let it tack up according to the instructions.

I simply then rolled the entire roll up & over the roof, trimmed out openings, etc.

Best price I found was @ RV Surplus in Elkhart, IN.

Cheers,

Coop

If ya want to use a single ply roofing material, find a friendly commercial roofer that has a piece of TPO fleece backed roofing left over from a job that he will let ya have ,,, or sell ya cheap, then get a gallon of latex based glue for roofing ,,,, the latex is a lot more forgiving and will let ya smooth out a air bubble, etc,,,, fasten one end and put tention on the other and let it set overnight ,,, trim off excess and put ya edging on,,,

the fleece hides tiny tiny boo boos and also adds a little cushion,,

I was reading the faq about the rubber roofing (EPDM) and they say the down side is black and the top side is white to reflect heat and uv....

Tearbum-

This particular product has a black backing.

Not sure the latex glue would stick to the white?

Obviously the black side up will absorb the sun making it HOT inside.:x

The white reflects the sun and things stay COOL inside. :applause:

BTW- We have a gathering coming up in W.PA.:

The TearJerkers Liberty Bell and Buckeye chapters Will be having a Co-op Rally, The "Keystone Kampout" September 14-16 at Keystone State Park, near Latrobe PA.

EPDM.. (etheylene propolene dien monomer) in its black state is typically stable and has great esasicisty,, but to make it white, titanium dioxide and other fillers have to be added to the black material to make it white,,, the down side is it also weakens the EPDM, All white EPDM tears fairly easy and is no where as strong as black materials, since the 45 and 60 mil sheet is manufactured in a two layer process and vulcanized together,, it was a natural progression to laminate weaker white reflective epdm to a bottom layer of stronger black epdm, It was a fair idea and was popular for a short time until the PVC, TPO, EIP, CPVC materials gained popularity and were more cost effective,,

So EPDM is a choice but there are as good and better materials on the market at a more reasonable price plus they are white or off white and reinforced with a 10x10 polyster scrim

just thought I would throw a few leg wetting facts out there for ya ponderance and edification,,,

damn ,,, I got to start drinking better
