Painted TD

Postby Dee Bee » Tue Oct 02, 2007 8:57 am

I used latex acrylic house paint on my TD . If you read my build journal you will find that I had first covered my roof with an elastometric polimer called Snow Roof. It is basically a paint on rubber roof.

Here is how it has held up. The Snow Roof bond continued to hold everywhere and provide a waterproof seal. The top coat of acrylic has checked after two years. These are very fine lines. So after two years I lightly sanded and repainted with acrylic house paint.

On the sides of the Zephyr I had two spots where the paint had lifted. I removed these blisters, sanded and repainted.

In my experience, house paint works OK for a low cost exterior
