Harbor Freight Folding Trailer good enough?

I am interested in building my first teardrop trailer and have been doing alot of research. I have decided to go with the generic benroy design. I was wondering if a

"HEAVY DUTY 1175 LB. CAPACITY 48" x 96" FOLDABLE UTILITY TRAILER WITH 12" WHEELS"

is going to be good enough for this project or if I should look elsewhere. I welcome any suggestions and am on a tight budget so I'm looking for the most affordable trailer on the market. Thanks a lot!

The Harbor freight trailer has been used by many people. I used it. It should do fine provided you don't exceed the capacity.

The folding one is 'OK' . . . . but this one is way better

Non-folding frame, heavier duty everything, 5 bolt wheels with larger tires and if you play your cards right, you can get it for less money

I bought one about 6 weeks ago, on sale for $299 and then I used my 15% off coupon from the back of the flyer they mail to the house, so I got it for $255 plus tax, complete

The Harbor Freight 1175# folding trailer works great. Just repack the wheel bearings before you go camping. (Standard procedure no matter what trailer you end up buying)
I used that HF trailer...nice kit and good price...it bolts together nice and square. A 4X8 sheet of plywood fit perfectly square the first time!
Check out some of the other posts on modifying the trailer to make the frame solid (no longer folding) and make it tow better. Most TD builders move the axle back and lower the axle.
Utility trailers tend to have the axles in the center of the frame, makes it easier to roll around. That can tend to allow the trailer to start to whip the tail at highway speeds.
To reduce whipping when towing at highway speeds the axle should be moved to the rear. This also puts more weight on the tongue and that helps tracking too.

Harbor Fr. Trailer

The Harbor fraight trailer will work fine .

I used one on the black Teardrop that is under my screen name, & I have bought two more frames that are the non foldable 1700lb cap. that I plan to build a couple of more trailers this winter.

I did make a few changes with the stock frame & the tires.
