Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

After a few weeks of not posting I thought I`d bring you up to speed with my build, plus the bubble oil was slipping, so here goes.







Phew, glad ive finally got the hang of cut and paste
note the pic of my new best friend. the trusty radio. The last pic was taken last night just before midnight, have to empty garage to work on the trailer so wanted to get hatch frame finished before I had to put everything away again

What kind of insulation is that? Looks easily bent to radius ?

PS - What does UK Law say about them warning triangles? I cant handle installing them on mine but have to be... Im looking on getting a set of round ones with the triangle on the inside...

Here they have to be visible 30 degrees inward and 30 degrees out. Installed not more than 40cm from outer edge..
Im trying to have them permit me to install them on the back of my fenders .... as a few in England have done... but here its an endless battle to fight with them..

But I,ll play with them and see what they say... I,ll set them on with a tad of glue or silicon and I,ll move them after the inspection.. but I know the police will stop me simply out of curiosity ..
As I know it will turn heads here.. and the police are included..and the 1st..

do the triangles have to be permantly mounted??

I was thinking that if you has some metal plates you could use some rare earth magnets to hold them on while you are driving.

cheers for the support guys, it all makes a difference during constuction.
To answer a few questions the triangle reflectors have to be no more than 40cm from outer edge of trailer.
The insulation i begged and borrowed from various sources. I used expanded polystyrene for the fla areas and on the curves i used 44mm thick packing pads that are used when transporting car body panels, I got them from my local BMW dealers parts department.

The trailer I hope will be quite light, every part is structural but as light as poss. I am 5`4" and 10 stone but I can easily lift the chassis clear of the floor ( obviously its heavier now!)

Back to the triangle issue.. Here they once told me that the triangle is to be not more than 40 cm from the outer edge of the wall.

Just awhile back they told me that since my fenders or mudguards are 11 inches wide. The triangle has to be from the edge of the fenders in at no more than 40cm.

Do you agree with this?

Because I at the moment have them from the sidewall in at no more than 40cm rather than from the farthest point in which would be the fender edge..

So that would mean Id have to install them somewhere else. such as on the back bumper after I get it done.. Glad that they are on with only a small screw at this time.

Love those "calking gun" clamps. Never seen them before. They look commercially made. The wheels are turning. Any one ever seen these in the states?

Hi Heikki, as far as I am aware it is 40 cm from the extreme outer edge inc arches/fenders so looks like yours need to be on the outer edge of the body to make it.

Hey Ralf, the clamps were a bargain bin special, I got 6 for £5 at an autojumble, they work but can slip if clamped too tight, either way they were the same price for all of them as is the cost for one sash clamp
