I would like to know what the correct way is of installing fender welting
between fender and tear wall...

Is it glued to fender or no and does it run the entire length of fenders?

Classic Finn

Heikki, I installed mine just like the old VW bugs are done. I cut a notch wherever there was a bolt and then installed the fender loosely. I then placed the welting with the notches over the bolts, lined it up evenly and then tightened up the bolts. No need for any adhesive. It runs the entire length of fender to tear contact. :D Danny

Hello and Greetings Danny

That sounds easy enough... ;) I didnt know how they were actually placed though.. so I thought Id better check..you cut a notch instead of a hole
where the bolts are?

Thank You Danny

Like Danny said. Cut them about an inch long on each end. Start tightening in the middle of the fender & when you get to the end tuck that extra inch under the edge & tighten the last bolt. You dont have the cut end hanging out & it looks neater.

Heikki,
I can't say we knew what we were doing, but I took a hole punch & punched holes where the bolts were to go. Our Ford fenders weren't 100% flat like the TD so in some place the fender welting was tighter or less tight, so we figured if the bolt went through a hole then it could never come loose.
But we have never done anything like this before either & when I checked the internet I never found any precise directions either. :?

I did what Danny did but used double stick tape to keep everything in place while I bolted it down. Worked real easy.
