Here is a dumb question but what is the typical offset for wheels used on a tear? I would like to use either factory Ford Escape wheels (to match the tow vehicle) or Some smoothies. I don't really want normal trailer wheels. Do I need 0 offset, + offset, or - offset? and how much offset do I need? Thanks all.

Steve,

I'm using stock Jeep wheels, 15 X 7, and they are just right. If you want, I'll measure the back spacing?

Steve,

The backspacing on my wheels is 5" (I know, pretty W I D E wheels for a tear), measured from the outer most portion of the rim to the hub surface. Keep in mind my walls set in line with the outside of the frame.

The smoothies that I got have 3.75in backspacing, with the tire it is right at 4in. If you don't have your axle yet then, offset shouldn't be an issue. You can order the axle to fit the wheels.
