Lil bear door latch/lock issue?

I bought a door handle/lock from Lil Bear and got it installed today. The inside lock is extremely difficult to use, any ideas of how to fix? Pushing the lock botton is very hard, it hits the handle and won't move. I tried pulling up on the hanle but it still really doesn't have enough clearance to move. I'm thinking of grinding/filing a small notch where it hits the handle but its pretty hard to get at. Anyone have the same issue?

Any suggestions?

At least I feel good that I got the door mounted, sealed and the door latch/handle works. Had been a little worried abut that.

I have the same lockset, although I got it somewhere else. Try to straighten the curve of handle a bit and then you will be able to bend the handle towards the door at bit to allow more clearance for the locking mechanism.

Hope that made some sense. I have also noticed that if you move the handle just a bit sometimes while flipping the lock that it works easier.

I just went out and checked mine.... works O.K., but is a little tight. Could be yours is defective, the lever is mounted too high on the body.

They are somewhat gimpy at first.
One was bent & I had to straighten it.
One of them can be unlocked just by lifting the inside handle, I wish they both did that for safety sake.
I think they are all made in the same factory, no matter who sells them. Danny

In the picture it looks like it is locked, but what do I know.

Didn'r realise this is a generic door latch, Lil Bear has been great as far as product and shipping. I little bit of filing and some WD40 and the lock seems to move much easier

If you can't get it to work, send it back and I'll send you a new one. I try to check 'em all before shipping, but occasionally I'll miss one or two, and yes, I do get defective ones from time-to-time, which I'm more than happy to replace!
