Baja without galley

Hey guys, i make a few crude mock-ups using mike's baja pics of some storage compartments in the baja since im not planning on building a galley. The 2 in the back will be underneath the rear bed, since it will have to be off the floor some to go over the wheels. the 2 on either side at the top will be through a bulkhead, i figure i need the bulkhead there for additional support, if i dont do that it will be open to the inside for shelving. Across the front will be the bunks for the kidos, so i should get good lateral support there.

You can make your baja a lot smaller than I made mine, since you are not using the last 2 feet of the trailer. :o

mike, im actually thinking of 10' in length and 6' wide (modeling up this weekend) so i can have a queen bed in the back, and the bunks in the front be close to twin size, with a drop floor in the middle.

the trailer i got off craigslist is a 5x10 and the measurement to outer edge of the wheels is just over 6', im trying to decide if it will be to wide.

We will be camping with a 3 and 7 year old and with a twin bed they could bring friends and have a place to sleep, i also want it to be able to handle a couple guys for mountain biking trips

Additional question, without the galley should i use the standard 40/60 split for axle placement?

I would use Andrews balance spreadsheet for axle placement.

how much less would it weigh without a galley, it seems like they would add a good bit of weight
