Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey gang,

Well, it's been good week, I've found the 5x8 trailer at Northern Tools, and even more important, lined up a storage unit that I can do the build in. The unit is 12x25, so I'm going to have way more than enough room to build in. The best part is that it's only about 4 miles from my house, literally across the street from Lowes, Krogers, Subway and my Bank, and a whopping 1/2 mile from the Home Depot. If that isn't enough, there is a Baskin-Robbins in the parking lot for the storage area.

There isn't any power to the unit, but I do have a 5000 watt (6250 peak) generator. It's not super quiet, but has more than enough power for anything I'd need, and then some. HD has the Ryobi 18 volt toolkit on sale, Drill, 5 1/2 inch circular saw, Sawzall and a flash light for 160 bucks.

I am going to enjoy this, I always like buying new tools (ahhhhh, that new tool smell), and since my I gave most of my power tools to my Ex as a parting gift, (she really needed them, was moving to start a goat ranch) I haven't had any any real need for woodworking tools.

With any luck, I'll have the unit on the 5th, then pick up the trailer that weekend, stop for the lumber with the trailer, and then move everything into the unit.

If you can't tell, I'm a bit stoked about this... as far as I could tell the things that were going to cause me the most problems have all fallen into place, and I can start to make a plan to go from now.

Thanks for the feedback on the Ryobi. I had read good reviews of them, they felt good in my hands, but it's always nice to get it from someone that has used them. I'll be picking them up tomorrow on my way home from work.

good luck steve, i know the area of clarksville you are talking about, i have had the ryobi set of tools for 4 or 5 years now and they hold up very well for the money, the batteries take a little long to charge sometimes, but theres always a trade off, if i have a big project i use the dewalt tools from work. with the cordless circular saw, clamp a straight edge down and you'll have nice straight cuts

We know where your $ is going from the bank to lowes and home depot. Subway for lunch and baskin robbins for dessert. We have unanimously decided that food and drink are not concidedered a build cost. My beer budget would have doubled the cost of my 5x10. Have fun with the build I know I did.

I'm originally from Breaux Bridge too. Who's her Daddy? How's her Moma? (If you are Cajun, you know what I mean!)

its good to know that food doesnt count against the build price, in my family we seem to always find a need for a "project" tool, and they dont count against the budget either. Its great when people ask how you have so many tools, and all you have to say is alot of projects the wife wanted completed.

Hey, I picked up a Ryobi 18v Saw, drill, light, and silly radio combo.

Was in HD, saw the box for $59. Figgured for $59 I can't go wrong. They're pretty nice tools. (Am replacing a 5 yo Makita that the batteries are going bad)
