Dean,
Kinda sounds like you're enjoying the new career I don't know that I've ever put those tools to full use myself. But I've had an old set of Starrett trammel points for about 35 years and get the set out every now and then. Used to do a little creative ductwork in a previous life, when I had to.

I am in hopes this is an open list because until I built my teardrops the two most important finds for me were my much ignored router and the ability to build a radius jig for it out of 1/8 " plywood. By mountingthe router to a 8" wide strip of plywood and allowing it to guide your hand you are able to make almost flawless flowing side cuts in a couple or 3 set ups.
