Picts ....ready to roll..Maiden Voyage

Postby CASHCOW » Sun Dec 30, 2007 8:20 pm

Thought we would share some new pics with you of the td. After very, verylong day, we pulled the CASHCOW out of the garage about 5:30 Saturday, December 22. <a href="http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff140/MikeandBrenda/?action=view&current=PC220076.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff140/MikeandBrenda/PC220076.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

She was packed and ready to roll for our maiden voyage.

We headed for Pampa, Texas to drop off Samdog (cause he wasnt going with us to the Island :( much to his surprise :o ) We stopped at a cotton gin near Clarendon to weight it and it weighed in at 1450 pounds. :( Mike was hoping for less but guess that wont happen.

This is what we woke up to the next morning:

<a href="http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff140/MikeandBrenda/?action=view&current=PC220080.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff140/MikeandBrenda/PC220080.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We slept in it the first night in Brady,Tx and it was 21 degrees. I might say that it was COLD>>> COLD>>>>COLD>>>OUTSIDE the trailer, but inside the td, it was toasty and warm even without a heater. I think we were even shedding some quilts at some point in the night. But for those who wonder if it will keep warm in cold weather, we had no problems at all. Even when the temp on Padre Island went down in the 30's it was great inside. Guess we will find out for sure next trip to Monarch Pass, Colorado.

Actually, Cashcow went almost 1700 miles. She pulled straight as an arrow, turned great, kept us warm when we needed it and cool when I had a hotflash.

:Oh Brother: The hardest part of the trip was getting away from the gas station when people would ask Mike "what is THAT??" It was kinda neat the looks and pointing fingers we got from many people...

Now Mike will begin planning out the galley. We knew we wouldnt need it this trip. But we sure will later. We will add more picts to our post as soon as I get some time tomorrow.

Mike and Brenda...congratulations on a successful first trip. Kinda neat how these little trailers can contain the heat even in those temps huh? Those first "lookylues" are a real ego boost also! Glad to hear it all went well for you. Doug
