Question about sealant

Postby Michele » Mon Feb 04, 2008 8:45 pm

Is there a sealant that will adhear to the black goo that I put on the underside of my floor? I need to reattach my plastic wheel well covers. The lip of the covers will be up against the tar side of the floor. I plan on attaching them with staples as that is the way they were on originally but I also need a sealant.

You could just put a little more Black Goo on and press the fenders into it while it is wet, staple (or screw) them in place and they should be sealed.

You could also use ice/water shield they use on roofs....will stick to anything and is flexible (so it won't crack)

...you can get the black goo inna caulk tube and use it to install the wells...I would consider screwing them in place instead of using staples...also butyl tape(not caulk) would work as well if using screws to attach with............

Silicone sealant will stick to the black goo.
