I'd love to build a tear drop but my wife incists on an indoor pot of some sorts. I'd be willing to go a little bigger if nessessary to get her into it. Otherwise I'd be waisting my time.

Any solutions ?

Buy yourself an RV. Either that or carry a large coffee can. If you've seen RV Crazy, you know what I'm talking about. :o

Hi fellow Buckeye!!

Quite a few TD builders& owners have setup a portapotty in the Teardrop. Do a search on the forum for porta pottys or look in the Hall of Fame on the top left of the page & see what you can find. There are many people that will chime in I'm sure to give advice or direction if you need it. The design is all up to you , there is hardly any right way or wrong way to design it. The other part is building it then!!! Good luck with your build & ask a lot of questions & do a lot of searches here.

I plan to use the area forward of the front bulkhead as a separate bathroom. See: http://tnttt.com/album_ ... c_id=32044

The portapotty travels on a fold-up shelf. To use:
1. lift the forward hatch (note canvas sidescreens provide some privacy)
2. Place the Portapotty on the ground
3. Fold up it's travelling shelf
4. Sit on the Portapotty.

Foldup basins are available too, which could be mounted on the front of the bulkhead. There's even enough headroom under the open hatch for a shower. Note that opening the main cabin door increases the bathroom privacy.

Paul.

Hey Gonzo!

Does the porta-potty need to be inside of the trailer? I'm not trying to be a smartalec, but some folks will set up a tent attached to one side of the trailer and put their potty in there. It's one way to have a potty without having to build a big trailer.

The little tent to the left takes about 6 min (5 on a good day) to set up. We use it to change, shower and ,well you know that is where the bucket with the bag and the kitty litter is.

I've been thinking about your question all day...

I've concluded, there there's only 2 ways to have a really comfortable potty inside the trailer, especially one you can stand up in ....

1) Build a giant teardrop, like the ET
Image

2) Build a version of the Winter Warrior with the potty in the back!

If there are other options, please let me know...

Well....if you incorporate a japanese "squat" toilet instead of a western-style sit-down toilet, you wouldn't need as much headroom!

I have a porta potty, but can't stand up. We really like it. I am going to put in a curtain for the bed area so there is some privacy without going outside.

You can also leave off the galley on a normal tear, put the bed in back and a potty in front. Doesn't take much room. ;)

A quick question cuz I don't know. How tight are these porta-potties that people are using in terms of chemical and other smells? Doug
