Finally! Picture worthy Progress

Postby ccdell » Wed Feb 13, 2008 10:08 pm

Work on the tear has been progressing at a decidedly "Teardrop Time" rate lately as the weather just wasn't cooperating. It has been too cold/windy for a while now to put polyurethane on any of the wood. So, I have been building where I could and then setting the parts aside for finishing in the future. Well, this weekend, the weather changed and I took advantage of the warmth. I disassembled, sanded and prepped everything I could on Saturday and started putting down some finish coats. The ceiling got three full coats and the rest got just one. So, I started installing the ceiling today and I must say, it doesn't look too bad at all. However, it looks like the drawers, doors, and trim will have to wait a bit for their finish coats as it is supposed to snow again tonight. But, here are some progress pictures (finally).

Thank you all for the kind words. It is coming along, just not as fast as I had hoped. But then again, it's still too cold to camp (for me). So there is no rush. At least that's what I keep telling myself. I usually don't have the patience to do the detail and trim work. But I am really trying this time. :?

Got you beat! 3 years and counting for mine. It's in danger of going from a project to a lifestyle! I'm not sure what I'll do with myself once it's done. Hey, maybe I'll go camping! There's an idea!
