Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

After reading one of the post, Al from Ashville mentioned that Northern Tool had a trailer for $319. Sure as the sun comes up they have them. 5x8 made of 2" steel angle. The front and sides have the angle facing up, but the back is down. The axle is 37" from the back and also sits on top of the springs instead of under. Also the cross members are in a great place so I can put storage under the floor. Don't expect any pictures soon because I can't start the trailer for a while, I just happen to be down the road from a Northern tool (50 miles away) so I stopped in to see what they had. Now the fun begins.

There were some people (who have this trailer) on this forum that said the angle iron that is attached to the tongue, twisted on them when they put weight on their trailer. From what I could gather they hadn't put any floor in it yet so there was nothing to help add strength to the bare frame. I just decided to add the reinforcements to play it safe. Will they help? Maybe. Did any of this make sense? Maybe.

its gonna be alot of fun and a little challenging but overall its cool to build something yourself and show your friends

Ahhhh, I remember that feeling of purchasing the trailer. It was the begining of something wonderful. Good Times I tell ya.!! Do a little DANCE!!
