Just wanted to show you folks what I accomplished this weekend. It was a beautiful weekend, warm and Sunny. I should have gone camping but I just had to get some things finished.

As you all might know already, I installed the Fantastic Fan

I installed a bumper.

And I FINALLY got some interior trim installed. :dancing :dancing :dancing :dancing

That rope was a lot easier that my first 3 attempts with Quarter Round.

 Wondering if I should urethane the rope. Naaaaaa, not now, maybe later in the year. I got the bed all made and I think I will just go camping.

Y'all have a goodun!

Looks great Mary...don't know if you thought of this...but what about urethane on the rope prior to install. Soak it all in real good, makes it stiffer to work with and will keep the ends from fraying...just an idea...although late. Doug

:fb You were not supposed to notice. ........ Speaker wires above the pillows and porch light wires by the doors. I can not make up my mind on what lights I want AND I ran the wires to a bad spot for installing speakers. It's on a curve and I just can not figure out how to install them there. So I keep putting it off.

Doug, Yea, ah, thanks for the tip.... ah about 6 hours to late. It's all good though, it installed real easy as is/was with a hot glue gun. Also, I wrapped masking tape around the rope, made the cut through the tape and used tightbond glues on the ends. Then pulled the tape off when it dried, about 15 min. No fray.

Satch, The rope Idea came from others on the Forum, After I almost had a stroke trying to install wood quarter round around the front curve. I broke 3 pieces of it and finally gave up.

See the broken peice in the TD and the other half I threw in the yard?

:o Hey I remember that. Love the new trim. Might die some red and do mine that way. Pollying rope might be messy but effective in keeping the dust and mold off. Other side---rip it out every year.

Never though about it being a dust trap.. We will see what happens in the next year okay? Then I'll decide.

It was easy to install, once I did a test piece. I didn't really think the Hot glue would hold it. But it does. Just hope the summer heat doesnt screw it al up.. but I guess we will just have to wait and see about that too...

Test piece.

:applause: Great job Mary K. I envy you being able to work on your td. I haven't been able to for quite some time. To busy with other things.

About the speakers, could you build some boxes with the backs matching the curve radius. I hope I am being clear.

Great job.

I guess I'm not the only one.
I got one side to almost work, right when I got to the splice "SNAP".
OK lets try another piece "SNAP" and another "SNAP".
OK, I'm running out of pieces to try.

Eh, forget it.

I don't think you have much to worry about with the hot melt glue on the rope MaryK. Remember, mine's been on for a year now & been exposed to well over 100* & as low as mid-teens & it's still holding strong. I used the nylon braided rope so I don't worry 'bout it being a dust catcher, just a 'swipe' with a soft 'whisk' broom occasionally takes care of any dust ;) . If you're using 'poly' or nylon rope just hold the cut end over a lit candle or even a butane lighter for a few seconds & it will 'bond' the fibers & prevent fraying. Your TD's lookin' better all th' time
