Starting my Generic Benroy based project next week. One question has sprung to mind: If the floor is 58.5" across, how well does a Queen mattress (60") fit in there??
The trailer is called 60", but that's the outer dimension.

I believe the standard queen size bed is 60x80, so a standard queeen size mattress might be a little too big. A lot of people have suggested having a memory foam mattress custom cut to fit your cabin's demensions. That will be my own approach as my build will have small internal wheel wells to work around.

I use a Regular Queen Blowup in mine. I fits snug, but it does fit.

My TD is 4 foot wide, not a good size for a standard mattress. Instead of going with a custom-made foam mattress I used a queen-sized futon mattress that a friend "donated" to my project.
This type of mattress had a steel coil spring in the middle of it.
I took the mattress cover off and peeled back the padding. Then I cut the steel spring to the proper width and did the same with the padding.
I was going to re-size the original cover but decided it was easier to start from scratch. For the new cover I bought a sheet set from a department store and cut the fitted sheet to the top sheet to the proper dimension and sewed them together kind of like a huge pillowcase.
The finished mattress looks great and it sleeps well too(because of the steel inner spring).
