Just sharing progress on the cabinets and roof...I'm still fitting the cabinets...and the roof is getting wiring, insulation and stripping kinda simultaneously...

Seems like I'm at a stage where there are lot's of fun and different details to work. When you get tired of doing one thing...you can swithch to something else!!! I didn't realize how much detail work there is to actually get to completion!!!

This project has been fun!!!! And the details are funner!!!

Ya know...much of the stripping design of this trailer has been on the fly..my next decision is "just what the heck do I want the front box to look like to accomodate a Honda 2000eu gen set and battery?"

Looks aside, can you share some more thoughts about your front box and your generator. Do you plan on running it in the box, or taking it out to run it?

Mike...I'm planning to definately take the gen set out to run it. I don't know how much I'll use it, but wanted to option. I'm doing the WFCO 110/12 v similare to the setup that Sonepro did. At the time, It seemed like a reasonable option....

Then you want the top of the box and one end to open. Boy is your tongue weight going to be up. Looking forward to seeing it in July.

Hi Juneaudave:
I am very impressed on the woodwork and quality of your teardrop!

Are you using anyone's plans for the build?

Unfortunately, I haven't stuck to any plans at all. Most everything about the SlumberMAX is eyeballed, and is just "what looks right" to me. If you were to look closely at how it is built, your liable to notice details that I borrowed from any number of builders on theT&TTT, Steve Frederick's Builders Manual, and my own "better way of doing things" ideas (most of which complicated things immensely). I can also say that Andrew originally drew up a set of Slumbercoach plans that I started with and really liked. But even the profile was modified with a fairing stick to make the trailer taller and longer after I mocked it up.

Thanks for the compliment though. I have tried to take lots of pics and document things like how I did the stripping on varios posts.

Beautiful, beautiful work. A true inspiration to all who desire a custom, wood tear drop. And instead of the museum for fine art, you are actually taking this to California for the IRG? Wish I could see it in person!
