Ebay windows and other windows questions

Postby kansasman13 » Wed Mar 05, 2008 8:58 pm

I saw some windows on ebay and the were alot cheaper in general than other places I have looked and I was just wonderign if anyone had purchased their windows off ebay, if so could someone give me the seller.

I've look on the internet for some rv windows but alot are just manufacturer websites and you have to special order, I just want some small sliding windows to buy dosen't really matter on the size. I used 2x2's for framing with 1/8 interior paneling and 1/2 inch plywood exterior if that matters for windows. I'm not even sure how rv the windows install.

thanks

I got mine on eBay (Pics in my album) a while ago from this seller

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrp ... Zwillisdlr

There is another seller who some have bought from forget his name frankbear or something like that.

You might also try local RV salvage yards, I think if you look at Rich's List (in the links next to the hall of fame) theres some in there too.

thanks! I just checked out his windows and found some good ones I think but what is the trim ring. Saw some windows and it said it didn't included trim ring. Also it says the depth of the windows is 2 inches, however I know my total wall thickness is over 2 inches with the 2x2's, 1/2 plywood, and interior siding.

Since Grant is temporarily out of stock I bought 4 from this ebay seller. They arrive Friday and he said the inside trim ring is for thin wall construction. I think he has 13 left. :) Danny

I purchased my windows on E-Bay from the same guy that Ken did. They came with two inch trim rings but since my door is only 3/4 inches thick, I will be drilling holes in the outside frame and gluing and screwing the window in from the outside.

Since you need some kind of trim on the inside anyway, can you make a wood frame for the inside and screw through it to the window where the original trim ring would? :) Danny

Got mine from Tri-State Surplus also on E-Bay, they were in good shape and well packaged.

My walls are an inch thick and the windowsfit flush with the inside. Think I'll look at Danny's idea as I was planning to drill'em also.
