opening interior bulkhead

Postby teetom » Mon Feb 14, 2005 7:39 pm

I hope I got the pictures uploaded correctly to my profile site, they are of the movable bulkhead. The idea being the bulkhead in the down and locked position for rigidity for traveling and in the up position for sleeping which also adds shelf space in the cabin. The galley cabinets will be removable if I want. As the pics show, there is an aluminum angle that the bulkhead rests against and is attached with tee nuts and screws for now, I will replace these with screw knobs for easy removal. The lower cabinets are to be built after the maiden trip to figure out the needs.

I like the idea of having that fully loading lower area as I no longer have a pick up and I could use something to run to the lumber store for longer stuff.

One easy way to retain some dual use is to have a removable panel behind the cooler (if located in the bottom center). That way you could haul straight lumber (2x4s, 2x6s, etc.).

Like the "ski hole" that some cars have. A little door behind the rear seat armrest that allows you to haul skis and other long skinny items.

thats a nice part of the state, if you want to see some really cool parts come to the west side, Lake Champlain and the islands in particular, thats where i live, looking at the green mts to the east and the addies to the west. I think there is a meet up of tears in early june in the addies, a great excuse to see some of the best country in the country...IMHO and stop by and say hi, we have a few acres to park tears. As far as the bulkhead goes i definatly needed the length of the trailer for important toys, like windsurfer sails and masts and booms (about 7' long) and the occasional 2xwhatever. I just got my ford retro tailites from jc whitney, very cool, i just need to design and fabricate the mount to the trailer this weekend, they are designed for a flat vertical mount and i want to mount them into the galley hatch which is of course sloped and curved, kinda like a boat, it will be fun and challenging. teetom
