Fender Undercoating?

I've seen lots of discussion about the best way to paint a fiberglass fender, but I've never heard anyone discuss the underside.
I have a nice set of fiberglass fenders (thanks Grant!), and will be painting the top side, but what should I do on the underside? Or do I need to do anything at all?
Here are the options I've considered:
1. Leave it plain
2. Paint it like the top side
3. Just prime it
4. Spray on an automotive rubberized fender undercoating
5. Spray on truck bed liner
Let me know what you folks have done.

I have fiberglass fenders and there not cheap, When I first painted them I got star cracks in the paint so when I repainted them I used napa bed liner paint they sell in a spray can and also installed a inner metal fender. My paint is custom job with metal flake so repairs are complete repaints. Not had a problem since. On the front of the fender I took that same bed liner paint drew out some flames and made a flamed sort of bra.

Finn, I think he said that those "bras" are just sprayed on with bed liner material. I was thinking about doing that myself, so it's good to see that someone else has done it.

I wouldnt be scared to spray rhino lining on anything after watching blast lab's abuse of it. I was impressed with the test of blowing up the pickup trucks with and without it. Without it destroyed the whole bed... with it kept the bed completely intact and just bent it out of shape. Cant advertise it any better than that.

Finn Hi yes I just masked off some flames painted it then traced the flames on a paper then cut it out drew the other side so it would match and tape off and spray.
The one thing with this coating you have to pull the tape right after it sets a bit, if you let it dry too much its tuff and the tape will be hard to take off. I did a couple of cats so I had to mask it off with ever coat. But now I have about a 1/16" thick coat. If you don't like that look you can always have it Armor coated which is clear

I saw that show to. I couldent belive the abuse they were putting that stuff thrugh..

Any one thought about coating a tear in it? I could do a seach but the coffee is keeping me from clear thoughts

I had looked into rhino lining my roof and hood of my suburban since the paint is lousy and like to flake. It was going to be $150 for the hood, $350 for the roof and another $100 for the UV protectant which keeps the black from fading. They also can paint match ($250 for hood and roof) by actually using your cars color and paint over the rhino. The reason for doing the hood was to keep the glare down from the four light that will be mounted on the rack. I would think to rhino a whole avg. size teardrop would be a bout $1500 + the UV protectant.

Ok since this product was used to spray on.. Im wondering, doesnt Grant also have a so called Fender Bra on his tears if Im mistaken?

Anyone else possibly have one.. ?


Also if that product isnt available here as pickem up trucks are not popular can another form or product be used?

I did I think 4 - 5 coats per fender with one can per fender. I bought three cans, I put it on too heavy at first and I had to sand on side then do another two coats on it. It goes on thick.
