Bottom Edge of Doors

Postby MRW » Sun Mar 16, 2008 9:12 am

Ok slowly progressing on my tear, I have the sidewall profiles cut and started to put in the framing on the walls my question is where to start the bottom edge of the entry doors I looked at several profiles in the design library and also looked at a lot of pics of members and they vary do you want the edge of the door to be slightly above or slightly below the height of the mattress? Or is it that big of deal? I just don't want to cut a hole in the side and then think boy wish I would have raised or lowered that a couple of inches. thanks for any advice here

I did half the thickness of the mattress from the floor so as not to pinch the back of your legs when getting in and out. Just my 2-cents worth.

I concur. About half the thickness of the mattress seems to be the general consensus.

Mine is also 1/2 the thickness of the mattress. When getting in and out, you don't want he back of your legs to come in contact with the cold aluminum door frame.

Mine is at floor level. The complete thickness of the mattress will be above the bottom of the door
