Removable Doors

Postby Toytaco2 » Wed Mar 19, 2008 5:09 pm

Has anyone built their TD with removable doors? I'm thinking of something much like the Jeep CJ removable hard doors where the door is simply lifted off the hinge. It's probably not the most secure set-up, but would certainly be nice when using an attached tent, especially when the grand children are sleeping in the TD with me in the tent. Any thoughts or potential pitfalls to this idea? Any thoughts on the hardware that might be available?

The Doors lift right off. And I have not had one fall off....yet.... Just kidding. they are not coming off unless they are open and I am lifting them off.

I have the same ones. They are as secure as any hinge.

Mary, How do you seal the door so it won't leak?
