Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Well I stopped my build the start of winter last year and now due to the warm weather and the threat that I might have to camp in a tent again
I've mustered up some motivation to start my build again. I bought a new $30 gadget from Home Depot that really saved the day with building my galley door, can't rememeber the name of it but Man! was it handy.

I was able to put the galley door together in two days, so far so good. I'll be skinning the inside of it hopefully in the next couple of days.

Here some pics of the galley door. Outside and inside vertical is doubled up 3/4'' plywood, and horizontal outside and inside is poplur. Super light and strong.

Good job. I would love to see that one finished. It is so unique!

Mike - I'm glad to see an update. I was just talking to Pam about you the other day, wondering where you were on the build. I knew the cold wasn't helping. Should be nice the rest of the week, hopefully.

I'd like to see it done too, it's been taking way too long and lot of money. I hope to have it done by the end of April. But I said that I would get it done by September of 07 too.

Thanks Shelly, yeah I'm still here. Slowly getting back into it. I really could have been doing a lot of other things on the build that didn't require me to be outside, like finishing the doors and stuff like that but the cold and lack of light really put a damper on the motivation.

That thar do hickey thinga ma jig is a pocket screw hole driller whatchmacall it.

Don't know how I lived 60 years without one. Mighty handy tool.

I have the Kreg. Looked at the one at HD and couldn't figger out how to use it with a 2x4. Fine for 3/4 inch stock though.

Luckily that's all I needed it for was 3/4". Didn't even pay attention to that until I bought it. Thankfully it worked great.

Thanks so much, nothing is really square on it but I'm not that anal about things like that. A lot of my build has a lot of "I should have done it different, I guess I'll fix it now" stuff on it. Hopefully it all works in the end.

The Kregg pocket hole jig I have (portable single) is adjustable for different depths of wood.

Phil, I like your TD almost looks like mine. Where did you get your fenders?

I got my fenders from a place here in Portland called Six Robblees. The fenders are really a basic steel fender. I did take my trailer there so I could test fit and see what size I wanted.

I have 14" wheels and tires and the fenders are P/N F68U if that helps.

The tricky part is making the fender mounts stole the idea from Bledsoe3.

Square? What's Square? On a hatch you "build to fit." I was just glad mine actually fit and would open and close
