prefinished aluminium sheets : 49" x 82" x1/16

Postby McTeardrops » Sun Apr 06, 2008 3:43 pm

I picked up three prefinished aluminium sheets 49" x 82" x1/16" this afternoon from a near-neighbor: So, I guess, the McSeven Lotus Seven clone is now officiallly black. At $40 per sheet I couldn't hold out for corvette yellow!
The guy had about three dozen more sheets. I could grab some more, if anyone is interested in building and siding a black 4' by 6'10" teardrop cheap! Normal cost , for 4 x 8 aluminum is $107 per this seller.

You say these are black? I may have a friend in Terrell who might want some.

One side is black with a protective film, the other side is unfinished. Seller's number is 903-223-8292. We could bring panels to Memory Road Show at Texas Motor Speedway weekend of the 19th.

That sounds great, I am think why not for me too! Duh! ! !

After the discussion I just read on non-adonized aluminum, I had just resigned myself to having to get the more expensive stuff that I couldn't afford! This will actually allow me to not have to redesign my teardrop to 60" on the outside now too.

He's got 5 sold to me! That is great to bring to TMS too, I have two other buddies planning teardrops although I think only one will be serious (and financially able) to buy some, but I will let you know via PM the details.

You're a lifesaver, thanks for posting the find!

I went and picked up five sheets for me and four sheet for a friend today. Great find, any Texas people should grab this! There's not much left. Thanks again!

Here is a shot of the black side, he said it wasn't gloss, but it looks very glossy to me. Each sheet still as the protective plastic on it too

The other side is regular aluminum that is completely usable if I decide not to use the black side.
