Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Has any one used laminate wood flooring, ex pergo, on their trailer floor? what are thoughts on it? Any one see a reason not to? Thanks for your input.

I have used it in the galley area of a couple of teardrops, primarily because I had some leftovers from my house. It is very durable and looks good but it is also pretty heavy.

I used oak parquet inside my TD. It is beautiful, I never see it because it is under the mattress, and it added a lot of weight I didn't need. Next time I'll know better.

Thanks for the input. This is actually for a friend who is going to remodel a solid side camper, so weigt is not a problem. Besides wieght are there any other problems like expansion?

I installed the parquet with my favorite construction adhesive, it's not going anywhere. Don't think thermal expansion will be a problem with the right adhesive.

I liked that "weight is not a problem". Isn't that more a statement about the tow vehicle than about how the walls are constructed?

I used laminate to re-cover the floor in our travel trailer (or caravan as we call them on this side of the pond). It replaced carpeting so the weight increase was only the diference between the two coverings. Much easier to clean than carpet!

Floor , what floor all I see is a mattress !

I've been planning to use laminate flooring on what little floor I will have showing. Will look for the lightest stuff I can get.

(Hopefully that will be the cheapest also. Big Lots seems to have the stuff quite often)

The best and cheapest laminate for floors you can buy at the yellow and blue stores. IKEA from Danmark. Here in Europe they use the "click laminate".
When you also use an underfloor of styrofoam (thin) you become isolation at the same time.
