Making windows

Has anyone made their own windows?
How did you do it? and who has pictures?

I just installed one today. I used a "sandwich" method due to the odd shape (an iron cross). I am using 3/8" lexan on the outside and 1/8" lexan on the inside. I used rope caulking around the outer edge on the outside lexan for sealer. It's gonna rain tomorrow so I'll know if it worked

Yea, I looked at these. Quite a bit of information but nothing on building your own windows and how to make them open and close. I thought it would be great to
have hand made wood windows to go with the cabinets. I can make them, I just can't think of how to keep them open without bugs.

Andrew posted some pics and plans for hopper windows a couple of years ago. He sent me some more info.

Mine are plexi, with built in screens. I have a wood trim on the plexi, but doing it again, I might not.

Andrew says this style is quite common on boats. I live in desert areas, so I can't comment on how they do in long wet periods, but boats live in wet.

This is the window in Dave's Album. If you turn this over and use some slide lid supports you might get what you are after. That or find a single slide bar type. Some of these might work for you.
