I have noticed that the spring on the right side of my tear is not holding up as good as the one on the left. It could start to hit the floor when I hit bumps. I don't want to replace the spring if I don't have to. So what other Quick fix options can you guys come up with for me to give me more clearance?(shackle's, blocks, anything) I don't have access to a welder so I will have to be something I can bolt on....... Pics if you have them!....Thanks!!!!!!!

:( Boy I hate to tell you but sooner or later you will replace it. I have that problem and looked at spring helpers and they are as expensive as new springs. Sooooooooooooooo if you need new springs and not more weight carrying capacity I would get it over with.

You can add spring loads or longer shackles but you are postponing the inevitable. Besides you have to take the axle down to do any of the above.

Springs are cheap. Change them both, they about $23 each at Etrailer.com.

Well said, Miriam and Steve! :applause:

The springs themselves are bolt-on, and probably both simpler and cheaper than any possible hack add-on to fix them.

I flattened a set on the way to Minden in 05...went to a machine shop and had them punch me a set of 4" shackles and installed them on the rear. Just about every teenage hotrodder wanna-be did that to their cars in the late 60's to fit larger tires under them. Lifted it enough to get me home and then some. I did replace the springs however.
