Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I need to ask how some of you have attached your T-molding to your doors.
Just looking for a few options. My doors are rectangular so there are no corners to bend around. Thanks and look forward to hearing your ideas.

Well seeing how you ask for a different way. Try glue. Or you could use your head and attach with screws. Wood screws would probably work real good.

It was not a stupid question and there are no stupid questions here. But, it seems, it was a huge piece of bate.

I meant no offense to you with the emoticon. It was in reference to Gage's post. That I was not going to say anything about his comment "Or you could use your head and attach with screws.". Which I thought you (or anyone) did not deserve.

it wasn't a stupid question. Gage is a good resource and super smart about campers... he can tell the year(ish) of something just by looking at a picture...

sometimes things come across more "rough" in typing than they are meant. and sometimes you'll get picked on a bit cuz you're new. but almost always it is meant in a teasing way.

my advice? give it right back to 'em. pick on him a little. you'll see he's a good helper. just a tad abrasive at first. now he'll probably comment on my post and how "innocent" his first post was.

as you know it is a great forum though.

A response to Mary K (and who else wants to wear the shoe)

I hate to burst your bubble but there are stupid questions out there. And with Perry being a member of this board for some two years now, I was a little surprised at the question. And you should read my post again. The only person (s) that said anything about stupid was you & Perry. The problem with your generation is as you grew up, you were told where to go, how to get there and what time to be there. And then you were told what to do and how to do it. So today for the most part, your generation doesn't know how to think things out and in turn, learning something. But it is so easy to ask a question. When I built my teardrop, I had never built anything like it. Oh, I've built a couple of work benches and then a bread box in high school but other than that I knew nothing about wood working. I just used common sense and thought things out. When I couldn't figure it out on my own, I then asked the question. But very few.


Oh, and there is another way to attach the 'T' molding. That would be 3M double back tape. The automotive industry has been using it for years to attach all the outside chrome on your automobile.

So lighten up Mary K and learn how to smile a little. (no Emoticons for this post)

With all due respect....

I always assumed this forum was to help people with questions about teardrops and not come across as being bothered by a question...even if it has been asked before...who cares....new things or techniques may have changed since the last time someone did it. Wouldn't it be better to not answer instead of offending or talking down to someone?? Sometimes a question is just asked differently than it should, so follow up with a question.

Gage I am sorry you didn't have guidance when you built yours, but what is the problem with asking this question or any question??? This forum wouldn't need to exsist if no one had a question. I would feel honored if I could answer most of the questions on this board off the top of my head like you can and not feel like someone was being a nuisance. I don't answer a lot of build questions because I don't know....I know how I built mine, but I also know it is not the only way to build a TD and possibly not the right way...it just worked for me.

Perry has been a member for 2 years but only been posting for a couple months, so I assume he hasn't been here everyday or all that active here and just starting his build now.

Well enough out of me....go ahead and light me up!!! I am thick skinned! I prefer to treat people the way I want to be treated.

Well since I assume I am the same generation as Mary(I don't look it though...I am much younger looking and cuter)...I am going to call Sears to see how to preheat my oven, because my wife told me to cook a pizza and have it done by 9:15. I hope I can find my stove....where is my GPS????

Gage, the problem with YOUR generation is (insert generalization here).

Faulty generalization is a mode of thinking that takes knowledge from one group's or person's experiences and incorrectly extends it to another. Do we really want to go there?

Yes, there are "stupid" questions and I may have several as I start my build. It just depends on where your knowledge base is. I get "stupid" questions every day in my job because the people asking then are not as educated in my field as I am. I've never built a teardrop before so my education and skills will be somewhat lacking in that area. I will rely on those more educated than me to guide me, even if they think it's a "stupid" question. At least I hope so!

How can anybody tell what generation they are from by reading their posts? Everybody is going to have questions, stupid or not. That is was this forum is for, or at least I thought.
