Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I was just going to buy a regular old small plug in heater to sit on the shelf. But i read ez to burn stuff, i know from experiense that its hot to touch (dont ask) .................. But furnace. Whats that where do i get 1 do i have to run a chimney. whats it run off of, or is there something even better to use then that.

Here I've added the elbow. It directs heat into the cabin quite nicely. It also warms up the cabin quickly... within minutes...

As for the noise level, it's very quiet. You could compare it to a small fan or a small hepa filter...

Im assuming you purchased the smallest model? Should run about 10 minutes per hour even on the coldest nights.

Yep I bought the smallest one... 12,000 btu...

I figure as long as I have propane and a solar panel to keep my battery charge, I can stay warm.

Q can tell you how long a small bottle of propane lasts...

Let me do a search and see if I can find that...
Okay, here is Q's message... he says he has a 5 gallon propane tank. I don't know how much that is relative to a 5# or 20# bottle...

Mike, does it look like you can mount one of these vertically or will the regualtor be at a goofy angle?

What are the dimensions of the cabinet you put the heater in? Is the small grille in the long side the cold air intake? What type of fan does the furnace use to move the air around, bladed or squirell cage? I'm trying to think of how small a space it could be housed in and still be able to draw air through it.

i have a furnace sorta like that one in my pop up and it works great but i also use a mr buddy heater 79$ and like it very much.its what ill use in my tear as its portable and safe.just my opinon whats yours?

Critter, I wanted to use a Mr. Buddy-type heater at first but after getting the crap scared out of me with all the talk about carbon monoxide poisoning, I'll probably go ahead and make a life investment and cough up for the Atwood heater if it will work in my TTT. If it doesn't, I'll go without and use extra blankets or a heated mattress pad. I wouldn't want a Mr. Buddy to make me Mr. Deady.

That's a tough question...

I never thought to mount it vertically... you would have to have a 90* on the exhaust and a 90* on the duct...

My enclosure is 29" x 13".,

But if you want to minimize the distance between the fan and the back wall, the manual says the minimum required distance is 1 3/4". Let me know if you need a pdf of that manual...

I won't use anything that emits carbon monoxide inside the trailer, or depletes oxygen inside the trailer...

hey all,
well i guess my daddy was right.. he always said boy iffan your gonna be dumb you gotta be tough.no relly i turn the thing off before i go to sleep and it supposed to be safe to use in a tent i think.maybe i need to do more research. id hate to wake up dead one morning!
