I understand that it could be 1/2 or 3/4 plywood
but what is the difference between
exterior plywood and Reg. plywood.

At HD I found some 3/4 mapel sanded for $45.

The difference is the glue used to assemble the ply's layers.
For the floor, it shouldn't make a difference, if you are covering the road side in tar, or paint etc.

All plywood today (except maybe some cheap stuff listed as interior only) is manufactured with waterproof glue. Stop and think when was the last time that you left a piece of plywood out in the weather and it delaminated.

I used Advantech. 50yr life and its a epoxy coated board. Easy to cut and looks/feels like it'll take a bullet. 8)

It is smooooooth also. I used it as flooring because it can take being submerged completely for long periods with no harm at all and cost $21 a 4X8 sheet of 3/4". Not a bad deal and you don't have to coat the underside of it. I bought it at a local Myers Lumber yard.

will pine work or should this be a hard wood?
