There was a recent thread that someone wanted ideas on making a topper for his teadrop, instead of tent camping. I was driving along and saw this on someone's pick up truck, a quick search and I thought to share this possibility for anyone intererested in adding a topper to a teardrop. If you know the thread, please forward.

Hey that is a great idea. A GIANT "Igloo" on top with side doors.

Realy it is a good idea. I have many things just come to mind about it.

The plot thickens.

Hummmm...Ya know...the roof of my build is pretty sturdy...I think the right craftsman (errrr...maybe Doug...for instance???) could build a teardrop shape, with a pop up topper that would sleep a couple of young uns!!!! Watching the forum...there does seem to be a pent up demand for a small Tear that can accomodate two parents, a couple of small kids, a dog, and an arsenal of firearms and fishing tackle!!

There ain't no new ideas, just ideas that've been forgotten for a while:

And here's the design I did for someone for an all-hard-sided pop-up cabin:

Nope, because then you'd have a real problem getting in - there is a conventional teardrop galley hatch at the back. The tongue box doubles up as a step to get into the 'upstairs'.

Yes, I knew that... the recent thread had your CAD design as the suggestion, but I couldn't find the discussion. As for the double decker TD, I heard a rumor that there are only three still in existence. Two owned by a mutual aquaintance, and the third is in Long Beach, CA somewhere. I live in Long Beach... does anyone know where the third double decker TD is? I sure would like to know. ;-)

Hey Cliff, just ask Bob. I'm sure he'll tell you (not), he knows where it's at. Besides, it's not complete.

Gage, Yeah, I am sure he woul just tell me where it is, NOT. I believe he is trying to acquire it for the rest of his collection. Hmmm, not complete, my interest just went down a couple notches. Thanks Gage.

I think I might of been misleading a little when I said it wasn't complete. It's just as complete as it was when it was put in hidding.
