Just wanted to let you all know where I'm at with NAPSACK. I wish I was further along but work and other things get in the way.

Front section of outer skin is on and glueing


Interior bulkhead -- doors under construction for left and right cabinet. TV will be located in the middle section.


Don't ya just love these lights? from Ikea. I am making the interior trim to conceal gap between sidewall and ceiling.


NAPSACK is decorated with Route 66 -- not exactly original I know!


My Route 66 theme is carried through on the light pulls which I had made for NAPSACK

Very nice. Are the lights 110v only? I was told you could get regular lights but add some marine type bulbs that run on 12v.

As far as I know the lights are for 110v only -- having said that the nolbs are very small and only 40watt. I wouldn't be surprised if they could be replaced with something that would work on a 12volt system.

I love your front shelf. I still have to do mine, just have to find the proper height so I don't bang my head on it while sitting up on the mattress.

LOL yeah I had to do some lying on the floor, and getting, up to check clearance for my head. It is oak but the whole thing probably didn't cost more than $20. Its fairly narrow -- about 4-5inches but enough to put my pocket change/keys/flashlight etc on.

Maybe you can change the socket with a car socket and place a brake light bulb in it. Somewhere I have a familiar thing, born as a little mayonaise bucket and restyled it with a brake bulb and car socket. It works perfectly.

they make 12 volt light bulbs that are the same size as a 110 bulb..thats what I used in my first trailer, a 110 base with 12 volt wires.

Looks great!, love the interior lights, btw, is that a sink in the galley, looks alittle low, or does it have another function!

How did you get the black/white floor? Vinyl or individual tiles?

Yes, the sink is a little low for me -- but doable -- it's 25" off the ground. However it's perfect for my wife

I'm just going to do polyurethane for the cabin floor. I was thinking of the gigantic galley.
