Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Id like some ideas on a rain gutter or diverter for the front of the tear above the windows. Here we dont have too good of a selection as you do there in the States but was thinking somthing from aluminum or stainless..

Or maybe I,ll build somthing and cover it will aluminum????

Ive seen some of this aluminum above doors that look similar to a small awning????

Its maybe about 2 - 3 inches in width but I cannot for the life of me remember what its called.. and its not the normal rain moulding...

If it were me...I think I would look very hard at Grant's drip molding and curve it around the top of the door!! Sweet!!! I've seen a number of pics on the BBS using that kind of treatment and I think it looks good!

Unless those windows have a potential leakeage problem, I think the trailer would look better without any additional trim in that area. Another thing to consider is, any type rain gutter in that area would trap water rather then divert it while the trailer is in motion.

Hmm as far as I see no leakage. that lock seal that I installed now made the windows exceptionally tighly sealed.

Heikki, as close to the edge as your windows are, it may be difficult to install a drip cap...however the drip rail from Grant is dead soft and would conform to the curve of the door...placed right above the door edge trim, it would look good and have the added benefit of diverting water away from the entire door, not just the window...

Heikki used the Camp-Inn door kit & seals, which, if installed properly, eliminate the need for any type of drip rail over the doors, due to their design.

Hi There Betsey, Yes indeed they do come from you, meaning the door kits and windows..

Yup doors do not leak for sure. I was more thinking of the window area in the front .. however as kevin stated maybe the rain cap or rain gutter is not a good idea there. But as you all know I keep thinking of different ideas and ways..

Ohh thank you Betsey for the kind words .. shucks. Ohh PS We tried the Camp Inn Tent on too yesterday but my camera ran out of juice and it was getting real late so I,ll get some photos of it..

As well as the door screens still need to be installed.. so lots of items from You folks Betsey..

It might look like a "Uni-Brow" over the two eyes.

Also, when you're driving in the rain, water will tend to be pulled upward over the curve, gliding on the roof surface. This gutter would create a dam and stop normal flow of water (and air) over the natural curve of the teardrop. This could really force water under the drip mold and creat issues.

I'd avoid it if you could.

(Or, get window wipers)

I like the window wipers From VW has neat ones but wouldnt you think that would be too much.
