looking to build a tear drop trailer to pull behind my harley any ideas on light weight materials and trailer to start with :thinking:

A motorcycle teardrop... yep, we've seen some of those... I don't have any links handy, but I'm sure some of the other guys do.

DD, I don't know what you are looking for but my partner built this for his Harley Night Train...weight is around 200#s... from these pics, it has been lowered about 6"s and the axle swapped out for some torsion stubbies...he has also built a side tent outta some silver tarps....

Idea: Maybe you can find an old side car that you can modify and add on behind it and your bike. That would give you an 'L' shaped tiny side/trailer that would be long enough for sleeping plus have room for all your camping gear? :thinking:

Eggbert is on a HF 40 x 48 frame 7/16 osb and 2x2 spars pool steel roof. just a cargo style trailer. I had to extend the tongue with 2x2x 1/8 sg tube to get him to handle right. Pulls well behing my 1200 Goldwing

I never had the inclination to tow anything with my Sportster, so I don't really know the towing capacity of a motorcycle. But I am currently building a light weight (?) TD for 1 based on the HF mini (40x48). The shipping weight for the trailer is 187 pounds, but I think that might be over exaggerated because I've had no problem flipping it around by myself. I just got started, but with the added extra luxuries I'm planning on adding, I figure it should weigh out somewhere between 500 and 600 pounds fully loaded.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Haven't seen these around lately but the Lazy Bum has been designed for a motorcycle.
