New Builder

Hi,
I have been excitedly watching this message board and checking all the teardrop sites for months and am now finally going to build my own. I have found a lot of information on where to get parts for my teardrop but am having a hard time finding a local aluminum sheet supplier. Does any one know where I should look? Are there any on-line sites? How much should I pay?
Thanks
Mark

Hello Mark, and welcome to the board. I'm shure you will find the group here to be very helpful and just chocked full of information.

The places that I found to have aluminum sheet here were metal supply houses, trailer manufactures and repair shops, and believe it or not, plastic supply places. I think they sell it to sign makers.

I found aluminum sheet and mouldings to be the hardest things to find. If you stay with a size that can be covered using 4' X 8' sheets, everyone has them in stock, but if you go bigger, it will be more of a problem finding what you need.

Good luck with your project. I know you will enjoy it.

Welcome!

This is a great site. Search the various topics fro info on Al. Also check out the Hall of Fame then link over to their own build journals. Fianlly don;t forget to check out the Link connection on the Forum. There is a list of suppliers there.

Hi Mark
I have found that there are several places here in WV that sells dirt track race car parts and they sell alum sheet for the car bodies and they are reasonable price $50 for 5x10 sheet several colors to pick from.

Have a good day
