Ribs....

I was wondering has anybody here used rounded ribs to give thier trailer more of an egg shape? I know I have seen guys do that on boats, to make a nice rounded and curved hull.
It seems to me that you could do it on a trailer and gain some width without having a wider base.

I've been considering this, but not for keeping a narrow base but for widening it without obstructing the rear view mirrors. I would expect it would increase the the side to side regidity, increase the stability in side winds, and reduce heat loss/gain with reduce surface area.
