Galley hatch struts

I didn't want to hijack Heikki's thread about hatch struts but thought you might like to take a look at this page from "Victoria British" no nothing to do with "secrets"

Take a look at items number 12 - 15 --- that's one set - or the set that I have on my MGB items numbers 16 - 22. That set offers a self triggering prop. I have the other one which requires you flip a lever to lower the hood. I think these would work well on a TD hatch. I'm going to take the one off my car and test fit before I order anything. The problem I see with the self trigger is that if a gust of wind lifted it up then it would automatically slam shut down. That would not happen with the other type. One problem with the flip lever would be that you'ld have to flip both at the same time (if you had two props) which would require two people to close hatch. Maybe a mix of one that is self triggering and one with the flip lever would be the best way to go.
