Im trying to install my locks on the hatch. However Im having a problem.

I have a rod lock or is it called a center lock. With 2 rods going out from the center.

The curvature or radius on the hatch seems too far out in order to install a nice set of latch locks from Grant. And I also do have an explanation from Grant and drawing however it is not working..here are the nice locks from Grant.

Id know how to install the rod lock from a thread long ago..but they dont come apart and further more I like Grants locks better.

So in order to receive possible help from you folks Im posting a few pics. 1st of the lock.

I thought with the rod lock the 2 rods would come apart but it seems they are togetherwith rivets of sorts. I thought I could drill holes in the hatch sections to get it installed without having it on top of the skin there.

Yupper I dunn did too.

I could try to drill them rivets out but then ...Iz scared..

I reckon I can notch the inside ones and patch them with somthing and drill holes thru the end ones..

I had an idea to drill thru all of the spars but then the rods wont go through.. without notching that is..

Id like to be able to cover this lock instead of having it in view.. its not ncessary but its just my view on it.. Hide as much as possible on the inner hatch

I suppose I have to install a wooden plate there in the mid section also to have the lock itself sit on..to sturdy it a bit..
