 We have a couple of folks who have done that using pvc parts and it seems to work fine. When I looked at that I was hoping it was a kit.

I don't see where they have air from the cabin going into the AC. If not, how will it dehumidify, or am I missing something?

Hope the box the AC is in has a drain, or the AC swims during the first rain........vent the plenum out the sides, and close the box........but then how does the AC breathe

looks okay, but the thing has MANY issues......

The air coming out of the vents will be both dry and cold. I believe, though, that the AC unit won't know when to cycle off. None of the air in the TD is returned to it. It might feel good during the day but the cold would end up waking me during the night!!

Also I don't think the AC will work turned on it's back, but it could have benn manufactured to do so. I don't know. I'll have trust the builder on this.

Sweet build, though.

You are running a serious risk of ruining the compressor, no they weren't designed to be turned on their backs.

Agreed, a standard window unit would fail but this may not be a standard window unit.

I was just holding out hope that the product was configured and intended by the manufacturer to operate as pictured.

If so the builder of the TD would know before I would. ;)

John has one of the slickest A/C installs I've seen . . . . copied in one form or another by many of us

Check out his album - Page 3
