I have searched this site for answers but none coming. Has anyone built a teardrop sleeper . Hard body not pop up tent, and not a cargo trailer. A true teardrop. i want to build one so bad but am not sure the HOG can pull a 4x8 trailer safely. It is a 99 classic Harley trike. Any thoughts.

Check out the "Vintage Plans" and "Design Library" at the top of the page, too...might be some ideas there.

I guess what I am seeking is knowledge as to whether a motorcycle trike can handle towing a 4x8 trailer safely. I have seen those Hearst things but they are towed at very low speeds. It's a lot different a 70 mph.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've forgotten the name of the Canadian Gold Wing owner who has towed this teardrop for many thousands of miles:

Wasn't there someone at Minden in 2007 with a tear pulled by a motorcycle? I don't remember who it was. Or really if that is where I saw it.

My boss just chuckled when I showed him this thread...he and his wife both ride Goldwings....Hers is the Trike...1800's both of them...
I have seen him in the parkinglot with his trailer mounted CAR being towed behind the trike....and they tow to Wingdings all over...I think your trike can handle a lightweight tear with no problem.....

A rascal from little guy would fit the bill perfectly.

I have a Little Guy Rascal that I can tow behind my FLHX or the PT Cruiser. 1st trip with her was behind a VW trike...the Rascal is designed to be towed by either a Trike, large motorcycle or small car...it only weighs 460# and tracks very well.
