I'm finishing my doors and door jams...I plan on having inside jams that are shimmed to accomodate the weather stripping. I'm also using Grant's door latches. Anyone have pics of how they mounted and built your latch strike plates for this type of installation?

Here is the inside jams...not finished and a little rough...

Here is the jam from the outside with the weatherstrip held temporaily in place...really rough!!!

Hi Dave,

The installation is pretty simple.
Same as a regular "cutout door" except you need to shim the lock to match the extra thickness of the interior trim.

Here is a shot that shows the "striker plate", it is a piece of brass bent at a 90 degree angle to wrap arount the interior trim to catch the door latch and keep it from marring the wood (left side, middle of picture)

This shot shows the latch, shimmed out to the same thickness as the interior trim.

And here is one showing the door closed.
