Opps--question about screen and venting

Well I almost got the outside vents for the air conditioner in and I realized the screen might melt. One is on the exhaust side. I used house non-metal screen and it is mounted with heavy duty mounting tape. Am I asking for a melt down?

All opinions gratefully appreciated. :)

I would not think so because the screen gets pretty hot when you have them mounted on doors and windows and when the sun shines on them all day they do not melt then.

I have not tested this out yet but if you put a little chunk in your driveway or street-something with black background and left it there all day you could see if it melts

In a word, no, you are not going to get it to melt with an a/c unit.

put a small piece in the oven on a piece of foil and turn it on at the lowest setting... it should not melt....
