Need help with The Simple

Postby zlamb0002 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 5:56 pm

I am using 3/4 plywood for the floor and 1/2 for the sides. I was wondering if I should use plywood or luan for the front, back, and top. And how do I do the framing on the wall?

There's lots of different ways to go with that question. I stick framed my walls, probably over kill.
I'd say your best bet would be to start by reading the Generic Benroy Plans at the top of the page. They've got lots of good info no matter what style you're building.

For the framing on the walls, looks at some photo albums. I used stick framing on my weekender walls, which you can see here.

Others with stick framing will have to chime in!

Oh dear! You won't need too much framing with 1/2" sides and 3/4" floor. Here is mine>

This is one of those things I wish I had taken more pictures of. I kerfed the top curved part of the framing and put PL glue in the voids. Just like a house wall. Easy frame.
