Slowly but Surely

I've been plugging away at the galley for what seems like an eternity. There was a lot of learning to do along the way. I learned how to use a router table, make dovetail joints, make interlocking rails and stiles, and locate and install recessed euro hinges.

All I have to do is make the slide out tray for the cooler and I am done building the galley. Next will be the electrical!

That is a sweet looking kitchenette you have going there. I need to decide of I am going to put the pump and sink in or if I can get the wife to drip that hair brained idea.

I'd be willing to bet that the first time she goes camping with a plastic tub on the picnic table for a sink, she'll be glad she has the extra counter space in the teardrop. I'm quite a proponant of not having a sink in the galley. It takes up space, takes up a LOT of time trying to plum it in and it just adds one more thing that can go wrong. It's not conducive to the Keeping It Simple idea.

But when people that are not familiar with teardrop camping see the sink for the first time, they think: "Wow, all the features of the big RVs." But it really is more trouble that it's worth.

That's my battery box/electrical panel. The battery will sit on the bottom. The angled part will hold the master switch, circuit breakers, and toggle switches. The flat part on top will hold the inverter, battery charger, and fuse block. I need to put more support on it but first I'll need to buy the battery so that I know it fits.
